Vehicle Description

This 1967 Ford Fairlane 500XL hardtop was purchased by the seller as a rolling project approximately three years ago, and it was subsequently disassembled, refinished, and modified. A 351ci Windsor V8 was rebuilt to displace 408ci with a SCAT forged rotating assembly, Pro Comp heads, a COMP Cams Xtreme Energy camshaft and hydraulic roller rockers, Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection, and Kooks long-tube headers, and it is connected to an AOD “Stage 3″ automatic transmission. The rear end was tubbed and a four-link rear end was installed for the Ford 9” axle along with Viking dual-rate coilovers, and the car also has a Yukon differential, double-staggered Jegs wheels, and power steering and four-wheel brakes. The body was refinished in bronze, and the interior was reupholstered, and a Pioneer stereo, a Hurst shifter, and Dakota Digital instruments were also installed. This Fairlane 500XL is now offered by the selling dealer with photos from the refurbishment, service records, and a clean title.

During the build process in 2022, the floors, trunk, quarter panels, and firewall were replaced and the body was finished in bronze with black accent stripes. The trim and bumpers were refinished to match the body, LED lighting was installed along with black hood scoops, and the windows and taillight lenses were tinted.

The Jegs wheels measure 17″ in diameter up front and 15″ out back, and they are mounted with 27×6 Mickey Thompson ET Street tires up front and 275/60 Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S tires out back. The rear was mini-tubbed, and a four-link rear end was installed along with Viking dual-rate coilovers. The car also has power steering and brakes with a Wilwood master cylinder.

Custom white leather upholstery was applied to the front bucket seats and the rear seat. The dashboard and custom center console were also reupholstered, and carbon-style appliqués adorn the dashboard. A Hurst shifter has been installed, and the Holley Sniper EFI control screen is mounted ahead of it. A Pioneer stereo was also fitted.

The Grant GT steering wheel frames Dakota Digital instrumentation. The odometer indicates 300 miles, which represents the mileage since the build was completed.

The 351ci Windsor V8 was rebuilt and stroked to displace 408ci. The build involved installing a SCAT forged rotating assembly, a COMP Cams Xtreme Energy hydraulic roller camshaft, Pro Comp 190 heads, Howards Cams springs, Manley stainless-steel valves, a Milodon oil pan, a high-volume oil pump, MSD ignition, and Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection. The Kooks long-tube headers are matched with a dual exhaust system with electric cutouts, and an aluminum radiator, an Optima battery, a billet pulley kit, and Ford Racing valve covers were also installed.

Power is sent to the Ford 9″ rear axle through an AOD “Stage 3” automatic that was rebuilt with a 2,500-rpm stall torque converter, a hardened input shaft, Raybestos Stage 1 friction plates, and an Alto Red Eagle overdrive band. A Yukon Dura Grip differential was also installed.
