Vehicle Description

This 1969 Plymouth Road Runner is far more than a traditional muscle car restoration—it is a professionally built pro-touring machine that combines classic Mopar styling with supercharged big-block power and modern performance engineering.

The body was removed and placed on a rotisserie during the build before being refinished in deep black using GM-sourced paint. Replacement glass was installed, and the bumpers were rechromed as part of the refurbishment. The aggressive exterior presentation is complemented by a custom hood featuring an electromagnetic latch system and dual linear actuators.

To accommodate its upgraded performance capabilities, the rear of the car was mini-tubbed and fitted with staggered 18-inch Centerline wheels wrapped in Mickey Thompson ET Street tires measuring 245/40 up front and an imposing 345/35 at the rear. The chassis benefits from a modern independent front suspension, a live rear axle setup, and coilovers at all four corners. Wilwood power-assisted disc brakes provide substantial stopping power, while an electric parking brake system adds modern convenience.

Inside, the cabin has been completely reimagined with front and rear seats sourced from a fifth-generation Pontiac GTO and upholstered in gray leather. Matching door panels, black carpeting, and a black leather headliner create a refined atmosphere, while modern amenities include power-adjustable front seats, power windows, air conditioning, a Kenwood touchscreen infotainment system, and a B&M Pro-Ratchet shifter. A custom dashboard and center console feature faux carbon-fiber trim that extends throughout the interior.

The driver is greeted by a MOMO steering wheel and a full suite of Mopar-branded AutoMeter instrumentation, including a 160-mph speedometer, 10,000-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer displays approximately 700 miles, representing the distance accumulated since completion of the build.

At the heart of the car is a rebuilt 440ci V8 assembled by Vegas Machine of Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2012. The engine is equipped with a BDS supercharger, FAST electronic fuel injection, Mopar Performance finned valve covers, and an aluminum radiator. Additional engine bay bracing was incorporated during the build to support the increased performance capabilities. The result is a powerplant that delivers the unmistakable character of a Mopar big-block while offering the responsiveness and reliability of modern fuel injection.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a TorqueFlite 727 three-speed automatic transmission rebuilt by Bob’s Transmissions in 2015 and converted to a manual valve body configuration for enhanced driver control. The underside was coated with a spray-on bedliner during the build process, while dual trunk-mounted batteries and a 120-volt power inverter further reflect the comprehensive nature of the project.

Offered with partial service records and a clean title, this 1969 Plymouth Road Runner represents a unique opportunity to own a professionally built custom Mopar that blends timeless muscle car styling with modern engineering. With its supercharged 440 V8, upgraded suspension, custom interior, and show-quality presence, it delivers the kind of performance and excitement that few classic muscle cars can match.
