1964 Pontiac GTO Convertible

This 1964 Pontiac GTO Convertible is a classic first-generation example built on December 30, 1963, in Freemont, California, and originally delivered to Ulrich Pontiac of Culver City. Finished in sleek black with matching black vinyl upholstery and a power-operated soft top, this GTO has been refurbished to concours-level condition and certified Concours Gold by the GTO Association of America.

Power comes from a replacement 389ci V8, bored .040 over, equipped with a rebuilt Tri-Power setup of three two-barrel Rochester carburetors, sending torque through a replacement Muncie four-speed manual transmission to a 3.90:1 Saf-T-Trac rear differential. The drivetrain is complemented by power-assisted steering, rebuilt drum brakes, and fully overhauled suspension components, including control arms, shocks, and tie rods.

The exterior retains its classic styling with re-chromed bumpers, re-anodized grilles and headlight surrounds, reproduction T3 headlights, and a powder-coated top frame fitted with a new Robbins black convertible top. 14″ steel wheels feature Pontiac hubcaps and Coker-US Royal Safety 800 redline tires, with a matching spare in the trunk.

Inside, the cabin offers bucket seats and rear bench upholstered in black vinyl, a restored dash pad with engine-turned panels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel on a tilting column, a Delco push-button AM radio, Hurst shifter, center console, and fully replated interior brightwork. The instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and 7,000-rpm tachometer with rebuilt, re-silkscreened faces.
