Vehicle Description

This 1971 Plymouth Barracuda combines the aggressive styling of Mopar’s legendary E-body platform with the brute force of a 440ci Six Pack V8 and a four-speed manual transmission. The car subsequently underwent a comprehensive refurbishment that included a full repaint, interior restoration, and drivetrain replacement, resulting in a striking muscle car built to deliver both presence and performance.

Originally finished in Sassy Grass Green, the body was stripped to bare metal before being refinished in black and fitted with a matching black vinyl roof. Prior to paintwork, repairs were performed to the trunk floor and A-pillars. Exterior features include ’Cuda-style fender vents, bold 440 billboard graphics, hood and tail panel emblems, chrome bumpers, fog lights, faux hood scoops, rear window louvers, a Go Wing rear spoiler, and dual exhaust outlets exiting through the rear valance.

The car rides on polished 15-inch Cragar alloy wheels wrapped in staggered Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T tires measuring 235/60 in the front and 275/60 in the rear. Suspension upgrades include Hotchkis torsion bars and shock absorbers, while power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drum brakes provide stopping power.

Inside, the cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl, complemented by matching door panels and carpeting. A Hurst pistol-grip shifter serves as the focal point of the driver-oriented interior, while air conditioning and a push-button AM radio add comfort and period-correct character.

The rim-blow steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The odometer shows approximately 90,000 miles, with around 100 miles added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

Power comes from a replacement 440ci V8 equipped with the legendary Six Pack induction system featuring triple two-barrel carburetors. A rotary-style air conditioning compressor has been installed, and maintenance records indicate an oil change in 2021 along with fuel filter replacement in 2022. The combination delivers the kind of torque, sound, and performance that made Mopar big-block cars some of the most feared machines of the muscle car era.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, providing the engaging driving experience enthusiasts expect from a classic performance car. Hooker four-into-one headers and an H-pipe exhaust system further enhance both performance and exhaust tone.

Accompanied by refurbishment records and a clean title, this 1971 Plymouth Barracuda offers the ideal blend of iconic styling, big-block Six Pack power, and four-speed driver involvement. With its aggressive black-on-black presentation and unmistakable Mopar attitude, it stands as a compelling example of one of the most desirable muscle car platforms ever produced.
