1968 Dodge Charger R/T 426 Hemi

This 1968 Dodge Charger R/T is finished in blue over white vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 426ci Hemi V8 equipped with dual four-barrel Carter carburetors and paired with a TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission and a 3.23:1 rear axle.

The exterior was refinished in Bright Blue Metallic under previous ownership. Styling details include a white rear stripe, hideaway headlamps, round side-marker lights, a driver-side mirror, and chrome bumpers along with bright window surrounds and trim. The left quarter panel has been repaired, and a paint crack is noted.

The car rides on 15″ Magnum 500–style wheels fitted with 225/75 Coker Classic redline tires. It is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drums.

The interior features front bucket seats with headrests and a rear bench trimmed in white vinyl along with matching door panels and trim. Equipment includes a folding center armrest, power windows, an AM/8-track stereo, and a heater. Auxiliary Auto Gage instruments have been added below the dash, and the factory cluster includes a 150-mph speedometer, tachometer, and auxiliary gauges, while the clock is inoperative.

The 426ci Hemi V8 was factory rated at 425 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque. The engine was rebuilt in 2020, at which time the cylinder heads were repaired and an electric fuel pump was added. Power is sent to the rear wheels through the rebuilt TorqueFlite automatic transmission and rear axle assembly.
